“What is med school like?”

That’s what I wanted to know before I started this medical school journey. I was so curious to know how life would be once med school started, but now I know:

It’s impossible to answer this, because everyone’s experiences are so very different. It varies depending on the medical school, the country, even from teacher to teacher. My classmates live through med school quite differently from my friend group, I’ve noticed. It’s hard to compare ourselves to each other (and we shouldn’t). So this blog is just meant to give advice and share my experiences.

So a bit about me:

I’m a fourth year medical student at a European med school, which means it’s a 6-year program. I was born in Europe and moved to the US when I was 8, where I stayed and studied up until college. I did a 4-year bachelor’s degree in biomedical engineering  before moving back to Europe to pursue medicine.
