I miss teaching.

This is my way of sharing knowledge I've garnered in my 4+ years of practicing emergency medicine.

Below is a free PDF of my mental model for working up a chest pain chief complaint. It is by no means comprehensive: it's a summary and builds on knowledge that we have gained from medical school lectures, textbooks and other resources. This is the content of what I would go through with a medical student or first year resident on shift. It took me years to develop this (even though it may not seem like much at first glance).

This is definitely not medical advice. This is intended for educational purposes and supplements other things you should have learned. There is rarely only one right way to do things in medicine - other doctors may have a different mental model and that's okay. We all develop our own ways of practicing with years and experience, and you will too. This is not perfect by any means, and will likely change as I learn new things.
